Milestone Centers, Inc. has selected our very own Christine Steffish as Direct Support Professional of the month for November 2019!
Chris has been employed with Fayette Resouces in the Indiana region for 2 ½ years. She is a mentor for all of her fellow coworkers by ensuring that everyone is following a person first mindset. We can be sure that we are upholding the highest of quality care to each person we support when she has been involved in their training process. Every day she comes to work and puts her consumers first. It doesn’t matter what is going on outside of work; when she is here she is focused on going above and beyond for her guys and for administration. She is willing to do anything for anyone that is asked if she is able. She follows through with Fayette Resources’ Mission statement every day she is at work.
We kept this a surprise from Chris because she is humble, and catching her off guard was going to be the best way to show her that we appreciate her.
Loretta Sachs from HCQU (west) came to our Indiana office and presented Chris with gifts (a new backpack filled with a warm fuzzy blanket, some hand care, as well as a water bottle and a snack) to recognize her and to help her take care of herself as well as she takes care of the people she supports. When Chris was presented with the award and had her picture taken, she insisted that Julie Dunmire (Program Specialist) and Amanda DuBrock (Administrative Assistant) be in it with her because she “couldn’t do [her] job without their support.” Chris’s nomination and picture are posted to the HCQU website and will remain for the whole Month of November.
