It seems like forever since Cindy and June became roommates.  They’ve been together for such a long time it is nearly impossible to remember the days when both of ladies lived in group homes.  Cindy lived on one side of town; June on the other side.   One day, Cindy began telling everyone who would listen to her that she wanted her own place and wanted June to be her roommate.  In those days, this was rarely done.  Of course, living independently became part of June and Cindy’s goal plans in the hopes of helping them learn more about their community and living alone.  This was too slow of a process for them and the more that the ladies expressed this wish, the more seriously it was considered until finally, the perfect apartment became available.  The ladies had found their dream home and the move was on!  There were a lot of nervous thoughts in the minds of people who knew and cared about June and Cindy but nerves soon turned to big smiles as the pair adapted to their new “digs” within days.

In all of the years they’ve been together, no one can remember an argument or disagreement between them.   June and Cindy have been ideal roommates.  They share the responsibilities of living in an apartment from decorating to grocery shopping to cooking to cleaning.  The ladies do have the benefit of having a few hours of staff assistance each day but this is largely for running errands, going on trips, activities and vacations and shopping.  The ladies really do run their own home and have become independent members of their community.
